Hiking with Trekking Poles provides greater stability

Ever use trekking poles when hiking? If you’re on the fence, here’s a quick read that may change your mind. A few years back I was a skeptic. Trekking poles seem to me like training wheels. I thought they were mostly for those with a more delicate or aged constitution. But I was wrong (again). I was jumping to manly conclusions which never pans out well for me. So, I purchased a pair of Black Diamond poles from REI with my dividend dollars, and now I’m a converted Pole-Tote’n-Trail-Trekker for all the reasons listed in the article below.

Lately, whenever I go hiking I always find myself grabbing my trekking poles, regardless of whether I am hiking 1 mile or 20 miles. It doesn’t matter if I am ascending one hundred feet or descending several thousand, they have become an essential part of my outdoor gear I never leave home without.
